We will be taking over the Blackpool Hotel and Conference Centre for the weekend of 26th to 28th July. This venue offers accommodation for attendees and conference rooms in which all our quizzes will be played. We recommend that you book in to this hotel for ease of access to the quiz events and we have negotiated some very generous rates. However, it is not compulsory and attendees are free to stay wherever they wish.

The exact rates for the hotel are as follows:
Staying Friday and Saturday nights only
- Single Room – £75 per night
- Twin/Double – £100 per night
Staying Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights
- Single room – £70 per night
- Twin/Double – £90 per night
Also staying Wednesday or Thursday night
(these rates are for Wednesday and Thursday ONLY)
- Single room – £65 per night
- Twin/Double – £80 per night
Food
You can also add breakfast to your booking at £10 per person per day and dinner at £14 per person per day, this should be done directly with the hotel when booking your room. Lunches are also purchasable at £14 a day but this is done through OQL and should be included in your registration.
Lunch can be booked for Saturday and/or Sunday and will consist of soup of the day, a salad bar, assorted sandwiches and wraps and a selection of cakes. If ordering lunches please ensure you advise us of any dietary requirements when making your booking. Lunches must be booked and paid for in advance of the event and can be purchased alongside your ticket or at a later date.
Booking
The website for the hotel can be found here and to book using our discounted rate simply call the hotel on 01253 623434 and select option 3. When booking ensure that you tell the person that you are coming for the OQL British Quiz Weekender to ensure you are offered the discounted room rate.
Check-in time for the hotel is 3pm, if arriving on Friday morning then the hotel will try and have all rooms ready for attendees to check in prior to the first events, if your room is not available you will be able to leave your luggage in a safe room at the hotel so that you can check in later.
Check-out time is 11am. If you are checking out on Sunday but attending the Sunday quizzes you will be welcome to leave your luggage in the hotel’s safe room.
Parking and public transport
The hotel have agreed that all guests will be entitled to free parking at the hotel all weekend even if not staying at the hotel. Details of how to secure this free parking will be provided prior to arrival.
If coming by public transport the best option is to get the train to Blackpool North. The hotel is approximately 15 minutes walk or a short cab journey from the train station.
