Host data entry instructions

  1. Visit: https://quizcentral.net/championship.php?org=oqluk&date=2023-03
  2. Click: Log in if not already logged in and use your QuizCentral account
  3. Click: Host - If you do not have a host button it means you are not listed as a host. Contact Jon Stitcher immediately.
  4. For each player, input:
  • Player name (unless pre-filled)
  • The overall tiebreaker response (1 cell)
  • Subject scores & tiebreaker responses for each (16 cells)

Notes & troubleshooting

  • Click Save every so often so you don't lose data.
  • The total score is calculated automatically so this box cannot be edited.
  • You can use the tab or right arrow keys to move to the next cell to the right. Make sure you input data in the correct boxes.
  • To add a new player, select the player cell at the bottom row of the sheet and press enter, then input the player's name.
  • Do not worry about empty rows as these will be ignored automatically.
  • Do not input how far out the player was on any tiebreaker as this is calculated automatically, input their response.
  • Tiebreaker responses only impact the results page when the tiebreaker answer is released by the setters, so don't worry if the results page looks wrong.
  • If there are outstanding protests, these can go in the Appeals box and can be copied and pasted to multiple players with Ctrl+C & Ctrl+V if necessary.
  • If as a host, you have someone helping with data entry, they will either need to input data when logged in under the host's account, or be set up as a host in their own right.
  • Hosts must not simultaneously input or edit data on more than one device under the same account as the only the most recently saved data will be stored, causing an overwrite issue.
  • If two or more people need to input data at the same venue, they must all be set up as separate hosts, and must not duplicate data from other hosts.
  • When there is data to be saved the Save button is red. Whilst attempting to save it is yellow. Once saved, it is green.
  • If the Save button hangs on yellow, it means the internet connection is lost. To get an active save button again, when the internet connection is restored, make a small edit (e.g. add some dummy data to an appeals box) and click save again. Once the save button is green, the data is saved.
