Welcome to the page for OQL Live VIII! A series of individual written quizzes taking places at venues across the country on 8 months of the year. Here you can see the full schedule for the year and register for the upcoming event or register for all remaining events in a calendar year to receive a discount.
Entry fee for each event is just £14 and for that you will get a full day of quizzing fun, the expected schedule for each event is listed below.
If attending your first ever event you'll pay the discounted entry fee of just £1 so everyone will have the opportunity to give Live VIII a try for just £1!
Approximate schedule for the day of each quiz is as follows (at some venues times may vary slightly)
11:00 – Arrive
11:30 – Quiz begins
13:15 – Quiz ends, marking begins
14:00 – Marking ends – lunch
15:00 – Fun team quizzes
17:00 – Expected finish time but some venues may continue quizzing later.
There are 8 events across the year and here is the full schedule and who will be writing the quizzes for those events.
January 25th - written by Ronny Jackson
February 22nd - written by Lewis Jones and Katy Marchant
March 29th - OQL World Championships - an international set written by a team of writers and to be played all around the world
June 28th - written by Paul Sinha and Oliver Levy
August 2nd - written by Aaron Linge and to form part of the British Quiz Weekender
September 27th - written by Aidan Linge
October 25th - written by Lauren Hamer
December 13th - written by Hugh Bennett
The categories are the standard 8 OQL categories with a few minor changes. All questions will be written by Aidan Linge and edited by Rob Hannah and you can see the category distribution below.
