This was superbly written by Ronny Jackson and hosted by Tony Murphy. It was won by <strong>Evan Lynch<\/strong> with a score of 205, Jonathan Gibson took 2nd on 203 and Patrick Carthy was 3rd on 189. Full results are available via the link above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Regions Championship<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Full results: <a href=\"https:\/\/quizcentral.net\/rounds.php?org=oqluk&amp;date=2026-08\">https:\/\/quizcentral.net\/rounds.php?org=oqluk&amp;date=2026-08<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After 10 rounds of exciting quizzes, the winners of the Regions Champions were the reiging champions, the <strong>Oxfordshire Dons<\/strong>. That incredible team consisted of Alecto Hardwick, Emma Laslett, Tim Hall and Thomas De Bock. Second place went to a team from West Scotland, the <strong>Over Educated Delinquents<\/strong>. The team consisted of Innis Carson, Jonathan Gibson Liz Alexander and Rob Sutherland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There was also a prize for <strong>Morley&#8217;s Mandem<\/strong> from South London for having the biggest improvement in their score over the second half of the quiz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was a fantastic display of quizzing all round, on a fantastic quiz, written by Rob Hannah and beautifully hosted by Lauren Hamer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Video Quiz<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sunday morning saw Aidan&#8217;s highly amusing interactive video quiz which featured the great run of answers Turkey, Turkey, Turkey (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=M2AWKfMvDtw\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=M2AWKfMvDtw<\/a>), Willy Wacker (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=V38QlJt4IaE\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=V38QlJt4IaE<\/a>)! Much hilarity and great questions and eventually the winners were <strong>2N2 Knowledge<\/strong> &#8211; a combination of N for Knowledge and Talbot 2D from the OQL league. The runners up were <strong>Bright Northern Shites<\/strong>, who won a 4 way tiebreaker. A really fun format which is in no way affiliated with Only Connect! After 4 rounds of great connection solving it was <strong>RMS Jenever Convention<\/strong> &#8211; Hugh Bennett, Phil Small and Lauren Hamer, who triumphed by 5 points This incredible team have now won the competition twice in a row. Their second round performance was incredible, scoring 24 points out of a maximum 30, and spotting three questions for 5 points. In 2nd place were the <strong>Ballers<\/strong>, who you may remember from Only Connect where they competed as The Pitchers. The team of Jonathan Gibson, Paddy Pamment and Alexia Jarvis have now come runners up in the COQL Live quiz at all 3 Weekenders!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our thanks to the writing team of Dave Bill, Will Jones and Rob Hannah, to Rob for also editing the set and to Will, for building the technology that allows COQL Live to work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lewis Jones&#8217; Big Pub Quiz<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The final quiz of the Weekend was Lewis Jones&#8217; big pub quiz. Such incredibly inventive and creative rounds, and whilst most of us had frazzled brains by this time, the quiz was incredibly good fun. Ultimately the winning team was <strong>The 27 Club<\/strong> which consisted of Jonathan Gibson, Barry Simmons, Ollie Garner, Chris Devine and Gary Morewood.
